Help

This help link contains different information to that which you get when logged into the board

1. Registration.
Before you can post in a forum you have to be a registered member.
To register please click on the register button and complete the form.
When completed please click the submit button.
Once your request has been received and verified you will be sent your login name and password.
these may vary from that you requested on the form if already taken.
If your email address is incorrect then you will obviously not receive the required details.

2. User Control panel
Once you have received your forum name and password you may log-in.
Click on the "FORUM" link above and then on the "LOG-IN" button.
Please note:   enter a new password in the first 2 fields and then your old password in the third field if changing it. ELSE enter your password (the same one) in the first 3 fields  if even you are not changing it.

Then you may use the user control panel (user cp) to edit your details add an avator (small picture), link your site add phone numbers  etc.  Once finished click submit.
If you choose to link to your own picture (avator) it should be no larger than 100 by 100 pixels i.e. a small thumbnail

3. Log-in Log-out
Once you have logged-in the forum remembers who you are and where you logged-in from. Then if you reconnect at a later time it will log you in automatically. This is not a problem unless you wish to connect from a different computer, when the system  will complain that you are already logged-in and an attempt is being made to hack into the system.
Therefore please log-out when finished if you plan to use multiple computers, say a desktop and laptop.

4. Forum Structure
In order that you find your use of the forum enjoyable it is better to have an understanding of the structure.
It is basically made up of several layers: these are called categories, forums, topics and threads.
Categories are the highest level and are quite obvious.
Forums further break down the categories into like items
the above 2 are set up by the boards administrators and cannot be added to or changed by members.
as indeed some forums only allow posts by the administrators.

Topics within a forum, members can create new topics for discussion or advertising by clicking on new post.
Threads are then formed as a series of posts by replying when viewing a particular post.
Please try not to start a new topic when you really mean to reply within an existing topic that is already covered.

The initial structure:-

Food Forums: Advertise your products

  1. Bakery & confectionery
  2. Dairy produce
  3. Drinks
  4. Fish
  5. Fruit & Vegetables
  6. Meat & Game
  7. Preserves & honey
  8. Sauces & condiments
  9. Other products.

Business Services.  – Training etc.

For sale/wanted: - Equipment/premises/land/animals etc.

Jobs : vacancies/wanted.

Distribution of products – Post up the area you can cover

(+ whether chilled/ frozen/ambient) with any additional areas that you would like to reach, and you may be able to link up with a fellow foodmaker in order to help each other out. This is already working for some businesses, saving both time and money. Worth a try?

Clubs – smallholders, beekeepers etc.
