Introduction by Lesley Ward |

WELCOME TO FOODMAKER! This free website has been created to help small food producers, farmers and smallholders network with each other and also advertise their products to those who view the site.
Small food
businesses need to join together in order to survive and prosper :–
Use foodmaker to link up with other businesses in order to: · Reduce distribution costs · Source or provide products to other members · Sell surplus equipment · Source/sell animals/land/premises · Source or provide supporting services · Share information · Advertise useful clubs eg.: smallholders/beekeepers clubs
You can view all adverts
by
clicking on the ‘FORUM’ button on the toolbar above.
Click any forum to view the individual adverts within it, which you can open and read.
When viewing
topics/adverts in foodmaker or when logged in, once your have
clicked on the ‘FORUM’ button from the home page, an ‘INDEX’ button
will appear instead. This ‘INDEX’ button will always take you back
to the overview of all the different forums, so use it as your
‘Back’ button
(note: The ‘INDEX’ button is your ‘back’ button),
unless you
wish to stay in that particular forum.
Networking forums will include space for : · Advertising your products · Business Services · For sale/wanted: - Equipment/premises/land/animals etc. · Jobs : Vacancies/Wanted. · Distribution of products : link up with fellow foodmakers Retailers, caterers and food lovers are very welcome to view the site in order to source products, view jobs etc. However, this site is not intended for retailers or caterers to advertise their businesses on. Any advertisements of this nature will be removed. In order to advertise products/ equipment/ distribution swaps/animals/ jobs and services etc. you will need to register as a member of the network. Just remember when placing adverts, to include the county in which you are located in your main heading – this will make things easier for anyone viewing the adverts. Those just viewing these adverts will not be required to register. My work as a teacher/trainer brings me into contact with many food producers and food lovers, who I will direct to this web site. If all members do the same, the site should grow in time and prove to be a useful link between different food producers. I would appreciate feedback and any suggestions for improvements. Happy networking! Lesley The initial
forums are listed below as well as a few
Links I find useful. Food Forum: Advertise your products
Business Services. – Training etc. For sale/wanted: - Equipment/premises/land/animals etc. Jobs : vacancies/wanted. Distribution of products – Post up the area you can cover (+ whether chilled/ frozen/ambient) with any additional areas that you would like to reach, and you may be able to link up with a fellow foodmaker in order to help each other out. This is already working for some businesses, saving both time and money. Worth a try? Clubs – smallholders, beekeepers etc. Miscellaneous.
